Following the success of their first webinar on real estate sector, Singapore Association in Myanmar (SAM) and CCI France Myanmar (CCIFM) organize a serie of webinars on the impact of covid-19 on specific sectors.

The second edition on banking and fintech sectors will be discussed by experts from the sector. The panel discussion will be moderated by Mr. Janeshwar Pachigola, Head of Merger & Acquisitions at PwC and the speakers are:

|Biography

Mr. Janeshwar Pachigola is the head of Mergers & Acquisitions for PwC Myanmar. He has more than 13 years experience in Myanmar, Singapore, India and Dubai.

In the past 9 years he has been extensively working with large Private Equities and Corporate House’s supporting their acquisitions primarily in Myanmar.  He has been involved in more than 50 M&A transactions in Myanmar.

Janeshwar’s M&A experience spreads across various sectors including consumer sector, healthcare, education, oil & gas downstream, TMT, fintech etc. 

Mr. Brad Jones is the Chief Executive Officer of Wave Money, a role he has held for the last five years. Wave Money is a fintech joint venture in Myanmar owned by Telenor Group, Yoma Strategic Holdings and Yoma Bank. Wave Money is the leading mobile financial services provider in Myanmar, serving millions of customers monthly across a network of more than 64,000 agents.

Previously Brad headed mobile money and innovation for Visa in Asia Pacific, North Africa and the Middle East. He has also been an emerging payments consultant to World Bank Group, working in a variety of markets including the Philippines, Indonesia, Bangladesh and China. Prior to Visa, Brad was the founding Managing Director of Wing Cambodia, the first bank-led mobile money deployment in Asia. Brad has worked in financial services for 18 years, and is well known in the emerging payments and mobile money industry as a delivery focused executive.

Brad holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Griffith University of Australia and post-graduate business qualifications from the University of Queensland.

Mr. Christopher Loh was appointed as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of uab bank in September 2017.

Prior to joining uab bank, he held several senior executive positions including the Group Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Executive of International Business and Deputy Group Chief Risk Officer at RHB Banking Group, and was a member of the Board of Directors at RHB Indochina Bank Limited, RHB Indochina Securities Limited and RHB Bank Lao Limited.

Guided by his strong vision in Leading Change and Humanising Banking, he has driven uab bank to be one of the top banks in Myanmar. uab bank is named Myanmar’s Best Bank 2019 by Euromoney, Domestic Retail Bank of The Year 2019 by Asian Banking & Finance and recognised as the most transparent bank in Myanmar by Myanmar Centre for Responsible Business (MCRB) in the 2019 Pwint Thit Sa (TiME) Report. Further, he spearheaded the rebranding of the bank, completely overhauling the brand identity, purpose and the move to an award winning new head office – uab Tower @ Times City, one of the most prestigious address in the heart of Yangon.

He has been recognised and named as Myanmar’s Best Banking CEO by many international platforms including Global Banking & Finance, International Business Magazine and Business Worldwide.

Daw Zarchi Tin serves as the Chief Executive Officer, Executive Director of Dai-ichi Life Insurance Myanmar Ltd and was also recently appointed the status of Executive Officer for Dai-ichi Life Holdings, Inc. Prior to joining Dai-ichi Life Insurance Group, Zarchi Tin has over 20 years of experience in both Myanmar and international organizations in various capacities including corporate strategy, investment & retail banking and business development of First Myanmar Investment Co Ltd (FMI), Yoma Bank, Central Bank of Canada, and BNP Paribas Investment Bank.

A Myanmar national, Zarchi Tin holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Strategy from the University of Oxford, an MBA in Finance from the University of Ottawa, and a BA in Economics from Belgium’s Vesalius College. She obtained the designation of Financial Risk Manager from the Global Association of Risk Professionals and the Board of Director Certification from the Thailand and Myanmar Institute of Directors.

In addition to serving on the board of directors of Dai-ichi Life Insurance Myanmar Ltd., Zarchi Tin also serves on the advisory board of U Thant House. Past board roles include banking (Yoma Bank), investment (FMI) and advertising (FMIDe-caux Co. Ltd), airline (FMI Air)  and healthcare (Pun Hlaing Silom Hospital) sectors.
