Guy Lubeigt is a former Researcher specialist of Myanmar at the French CNRS (National Centre of Scientific Research) and at the IRASEC (Research Institute for Contemporary South East Asia), who has been on the grounds for many years since he discovered Burma back in 1968. He has published more than a hundred both scientific and general publications, thus showing his passion for and his knowledge of Myanmar. In 2017, he was honored with the French medal of the Ordre National du Mérite, by the French Embassy in Yangon, in recognition for his life-long works. During this lecture, he will share his extended knowledge of the history of Bagan, the medieval capital of the first Burmese Empire and how people in Bagan were living at that time.
