Joint Project against COVID-19

Joint Project against COVID-19

On 30th July 2021, CCI France Myanmar launched, in partnership with AmCham and MCRB, a fundraising campaign among its members to purchase and deliver emergency medical equipment to Myanmar during the peak of Covid.

The goal is simple: to move fast and maximize efficiency in the field without wasting time. The project is managed for free by CCI France Myanmar, which has also contributed for 10,000 USD, and 100% of the donations go directly to the purchasing of equipment and treatment.

We have chosen to support two highly recommended charitable organisations providing medical services to Myanmar people: Medical Action Myanmar (https://mam.org.mm/)  and Community Partners International (https://www.cpintl.org/).

In 3 weeks we have managed to:

  • Raise 200,000 USD in ten days
  • Cover the cost of 18,000 USD of heparin
  • Order 61 oxygen concentrators delivered in less than 2 weeks
  • Place second order for medical supplies which will arrive in Myanmar in 3 weeks.

We would like to thank MCRB and the French Embassy for their support, as well as the following Members and organisations, who have made generous donations: Total, KBZ Bank, The Foundation Puma Energy/Trafigura, Pernod Ricard/Seagram, Servier, Nestlé, EDF, Bioderma, The French Trade Counselors (CCEF), AGS Four Winds, Audaxia, Yever and Bérim.

We also would like to thank the following Members who have contributed in kind to the project: Acteus, CMA-CGM, L’Oréal and Sea Lion.
