The European Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar – EuroCham – serves as the voice of European business in Myanmar. Its main mission is to advocate member interests with organisations in Myanmar, the ASEAN region and the EU.
EuroCham Myanmar was launched in December 2014 in Yangon through a grant contract between the European Union (EU) and a consortium composed of the French Myanmar Chamber and EUROCHAMBRES Brussels. The chamber is now registered as an independent legal entity under Myanmar law.
Working at the crossroads of international trade, economic diplomacy and public-private sector cooperation, EuroCham’s main contacts are Myanmar officials, EU member state embassies, the EU delegation, the European Commission, European businesses, international organisations and European trade promotion organisations.
The chamber has a dedicated international team of professionals from across Europe and Myanmar,
Mission
- Advocate for member interests with organisations in Myanmar, the ASEAN region and the EU
- Provide a platform for EU businesses in Myanmar
- Promote the development of trade, commerce and investment between the EU and Myanmar
- Improve the conditions for doing business in Myanmar
Membership
EuroCham works complementary to EU member state chambers. European companies that have a European member state chamber recognized by their embassy in Myanmar, can only join EuroCham Myanmar if they are also member of their respective country chamber – while automatically benefitting from EuroCham’s ordinary membership.
